The driver's licenses of Armenia and the UAE are mutually recognized; the memorandum of understanding has come into effect.
Starting from June 13, citizens of the Republic of Armenia who are in the United Arab Emirates for non-residential purposes, as well as UAE citizens who are in the Republic of Armenia for non-residential purposes, can freely travel with their national driving licenses. In the case of residing, individuals applying for the exchange of their driving licenses are exempt from the obligation to pass the theoretical and practical exams required in that process. The driving licenses of both countries are mutually recognized without additional procedures, without revalidating their authenticity. This information is provided by the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It should be reminded that the memorandum was signed on September 30, 2025, between the Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Emirates, Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This initiative once again confirms that the dynamically developing cooperation between Armenia and the UAE in recent years also provides opportunities that facilitate the daily lives of citizens.
