How to export fish and fish products to EU countries. The head of the State Food Safety Service explains.
1lurer.am  To export fish or fish products to EU countries, it is necessary for fish product manufacturers and fish farming companies to be registered in the EU trade and expert system, TRACES. This was announced by the head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Petrosyan, during a press conference:

«To register in TRACES, it is necessary for operators to submit an application to the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia. The application can be submitted both in paper form and electronically,» said Tigran Petrosyan.

According to the procedure, the applications of the operators will be reviewed within 5 working days, after which an inspection will be carried out at the operator's location, and then the inspector will prepare a report on compliance with the requirements. If no issues are identified, the organization will be registered in the TRACES system.

According to the head of the Food Safety Inspection Body, experts from European countries will come to Armenia to clarify all questions related to exporting the first batch.

Tigran Petrosyan also stated that 97 percent of the businesses engaged in fish product manufacturing are ready to export products to the EU market, and that after exporting the first batch, they will understand that the procedure is not complicated.

Let us remind you that during the Government meeting on July 16, a draft decision was adopted related to the procedure for exporting Armenian-produced fish products to EU countries.
