The State Revenue Committee delegation has studied the advanced experience of artificial intelligence in the customs sector in China.

A delegation from the State Revenue Committee participated in a training course on the topic of "Application and Management of Artificial Intelligence in the Customs System of Armenia" held in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.

During the training sessions, the activities of China's general customs system were discussed, as well as the advanced experience in the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and smart equipment in the field of customs service and control.

Within the framework of the training and working visits, the SRC delegation also had the opportunity to practically familiarize themselves with the direct operation of advanced equipment working with artificial intelligence (AI).

SRC employees also visited a modern customs warehouse, where they learned about the operation of smart cameras and automated inspection systems on-site. The visit provided a comprehensive understanding of the practical effectiveness of high-tech solutions, the preservation of goods and ensuring customs control, as well as the practical mechanisms for integrating these into customs procedures.

Within the scope of applying smart equipment in customs operations, the possibilities and mechanisms of their use were also studied, as well as the three-tier system for analyzing data and images obtained from these devices using AI and decision-making. Alongside the academic program, SRC employees participated in negotiations regarding the draft agreement on mutual recognition of authorized economic operators. In addition to the academic program, the Armenian delegation also participated in study tours, which provided an opportunity to better understand China's economic development, technological advancement, and cultural heritage.

In addition to SRC employees, representatives from the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia were also included in the delegation. This initiative was funded by the government of the People's Republic of China and was implemented through the efforts of the General Administration of Customs of China and Shanghai Customs University. The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Armenia assisted in the preparation of the Armenian delegation's visit to China.

The professional ties established between the two countries, the best applicable practices, and new knowledge will serve the digital transformation of Armenia's customs administration, as well as the further development of close cooperation between the customs authorities of Armenia and China.

A mutual agreement has been reached to continue customs cooperation between the two countries aimed at creating favorable conditions for the further promotion and expansion of bilateral trade, exchanging experiences in the modernization and development of customs service and control methods, as well as continuing work towards the signing of the agreement on mutual recognition of authorized economic operators of the Republic of Armenia and the People's Republic of China.
